There are so many types of pain. Localised, chronic, referred, intermittent, mild, severe, excruciating and many more. It is a little known fact that only 20% of pain is the source injury or decay, the remaining 80% is largely about how you feel about it. Sometimes pain makes this so difficult because it will not go away, it does not feel better and all the great things you want to do in your life are put on hold as you grimmace, cry and swear your way to a doctor or dentist.
I watched the Channel 4 programme ‘Dispatches’ last week. It painted a confusing picture of dentistry and what the public are allowed under the NHS and how private treatments were offered as an ‘upsell’ for want of a better word.
Why would you want to join a dental practice? You can join a gym, giving you access to all the facilities to get and keep fit and healthy, but why a dental practice?
