Our teeth are very resilient, human enamel is the hardest natural substance in the human body. When we bite and chew we are putting a heavy load through these teeth. If we grind our teeth at night the force can be the equivalent of a pit bull bite. So it is not surprising that from time to time bits of our teeth can chip off. If you also consider sports and lifestyle injuries such as rugby or opening bottles with your teeth it seems doubtful that many of us would have any teeth at all.

To grin and bear it, Surrey? Do you need a Dentist?

The saying  to ‘grin and bear it’ means tolerating, getting on with your life and take the pain that you feel. This is true, there are aspects of our lives that we just get on with, perhaps feeling less than 100%. If you are in dental pain, chances are that this saying may apply to you. Grinning through the pain that is a natural sensation telling you that something in your mouth is broken or needs fixing may seem like getting on with life but really there are bigger factors at stake.
