It is common now for adults to have some form of orthodontic treatment. When you are a child your jaw bones and teeth are far softer and more malleable and therefore expanding your dental arch and moving teeth into their optimum position is considered easier. Using orthodontics with adults has seen a huge increase in the last few years. Notably simple, invisible tray based systems that allow for tooth repositioning without ‘train track’ braces. In the UK these braces are now considered almost fashionable for children, but adults prefer something more discreet.
